Has more than 22 years’ experience in the Māori media industry, in particular, broadcasting in television and radio. He has been a te reo Māori producer, presenter, director, writer, journalist, video-journalist, film maker and strategist. For the last decade, he has held a number of key senior positions at Māori Television including Head of Te Reo programming, Executive Producer Te Reo, Head of Production as well as Programme Commissioner. He has produced numerous te reo Maori programmes including ‘Ako’, ‘Ōpaki’, ‘Ngā Pari Karangaranga’, ‘Te Pātaka Kōrero’, ‘Tamaki Paenga Hira’, Te Kāuta. For three year, he was also the host of ‘Mataora’ a te reo Maori live daily current affairs show in Te Reo channel. Eruera Lee-Morgan’s work in Maori language broadcasting has provided him with rich opportunities to engage with Māori language experts, iwi leaders and community activists throughout the country. Eruera Lee-Morgan is a well-known and highly respected Maori language journalist and broadcaster. He has recently been appointed as Senior Advisor, Te Puni Kōkiri, Auckland Regional Office, where he is able to utilise his knowledge of te reo, tikanga, mātauranga Māori and networks, to support Maori development in our communities.
