Kia whakarongo ake au, ki te tangi a te manu nei, a te mātui, Tui!Tui! Tuituia!
E ngā reo, e ngā mana e ngā karangatanga a te motu nei, tēnā koutou , tēnā koutou, tēna tātou katoa. Nau mai, haere mai ki te hui-a-tau o Nga Aho whakaari, a te ra okioki o 7th & 8th Hiringa-a-nuku (October.) 2017.
Ae! Those who you who have read your previous pānui will see that the dates have changed. We are postponing the hui by one month for very good reason.
Last weekend we had a hui with Te Tumu Whakaata Taonga (NZ Film commission) to begin their conversation over the creation of their Māori Policy.
Korero was robust and covered important issues such as ‘Cultural authenticity in films,’ Pakeha roles in Māori films, ‘Protecting authenticity of tikanga’, Building Māori capacity in all areas of screen.
We asked the questions of ourselves and now of you. What would ‘Autonomy’ look like OR what would TRUE ‘Partnership’ look like.
As Dr. Ella said on the day we need to put the Tino in Tino Rangatiratanga and the ones self in Self Determination. So if you care about the future of Māori on screen and your place in that future, then you should put yourself at our hui-a-tau. Again 7th & 8th October at AUT marae. Nga Wai-o-Horotiu.
No reira nga mihi, na Christina Ngahuia Asher
