Nau mai haere mai ki te Aka Matua o Nga Aho Whakaari

‘E Kore te Tōtara e tū noa i te pārae, engari me tū i te wāo’ The Totara does not stand alone on the plain but stands in the forest.

Nau mai haere mai ki Te Aka Matua o Nga Aho Whakaari. Let us gather to the Totara and stand united and supported in this time of change.

This weekend hui-a-tau in partnership with Te Wānanga o Aronui o Tāmaki Makaurau, AUT, promises to deliver fruitful whakaaro on the tools we need as we head into an uncertain future. We will look at Digital technology, delivering to different platforms, Ethical issues raised by underfunding, marketing our indigenous voice to the world, and of course Revitalisation and protection of our precious Reo.

If you are a story teller of any kind be it a writer, director or producer, you will benefit from the korero some of our most celebrated Actors have to share with you.

Our greatest desire from all this of course is to tell our stories from our own voices. Nga aho Whakaari have fought long and hard for this take and while we must increase capacity across the board, in all areas of the industry, most importantly, our story tellers must develop their capability, their craft and this event provides the opportunity to do so.

na te Toihau o Ngā Aho Whakaari,
