Ngā Aho Whakaari is excited to feature two speakers who are at the top of their game in the still-evolving waters of the Digital Landscape at our upcoming annual symposium at Auckland’s AUT marae, Ngā Wai o Horotiu, this coming weekend.
Many of us already know, that in order to survive, future-proof and move forward, we have to get technically competent and creative in the digital environment.
Antony Royal, Chair of the Ka Hao Fund, a contestable fund established to support initiatives and opportunities for Māori in digital technologies, will be speaking about how we as content makers can best transition from linear to the digital platform.
A key focus will be: Improving digital skills and pathways for Māori into digital technologies. Growing digital technologies businesses. Growing the number of high-value jobs by supporting the development of Māori in digital technology businesses and enhancing new Māori language and culture initiatives through digital technologies.
We also have the very highly respected Dr Sophie Tauwehe Tamati, who took the digital sphere head-on in creating her award-winning app; HIKA.
Sophie will be talking about her experiences in those early days of development and the lessons she learnt from knowing nothing at all as well as IP rights; how your ideas’ stay your intellectual property.
Antony Royal and Sophie Tamati will feature on Saturday 7th October,
